Frequently Asked Questions

How does local PDF splitting work?

ToolXero uses WebAssembly to process your document directly in your browser's memory. Instead of uploading the file to a server, the split logic runs on your local CPU. This is 100% private and works without an internet connection once the page is loaded.

Can I extract non-consecutive pages?

Yes. Choose "Custom pages" and list the pages you want, separated by commas, using a dash for ranges — for example "1, 3, 5-8, 12" extracts pages 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 12 into a single new PDF.

Is there a file size limit?

Since the splitting happens on your computer, the only limit is your device's available RAM. Most modern browsers can easily handle PDF files up to 500MB.

What formats are supported?

This tool supports standard PDF documents, including ones marked as "restricted" that open without a password in any normal PDF reader. If a PDF requires a password just to view it, it can't be processed here — you'll need an unprotected copy first.
